I can say that joining the CRC at HOD was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and the best time of my life. I would recommend it to anyone who is searching for God in his/her life and doesn’t really know where to go or what to do.
The CRC gave me what I needed – the time. Time to spend with God to ask Him what he wants for me, to get closer to Him, and to build a real relationship with Him.
It was not always easy, and sometimes I struggled a bit. But I found the Lord, I made many great friends, and I also learned English. The House of the Open Door is a blessed place.

During Focus we went for lots of trips to beautiful places and interesting cities. It was the first time in my life that I went to the seaside: we saw the sunrise, and when it rained, there was a beautiful rainbow from one end of the beach to the other – a sign of God’s peace. The atmosphere was very good – lots of lovely people and we could chat a lot.
Also we had a lot of teachings. So we not only had a physical retreat, but a spiritual experience

The ten weeks I spent at HOD on CRC were a very powerful experience: a taste of community lifestyle, a time of confrontations and of learning to let go and accept others… simply said, it was a school of love. This time brought light to many things (especially through the teachings): the ability to look at my life in “hindsight”; and the experience that it is possible to create a true friendship with someone whose character is so very different to mine. It taught me that such friendships are not only daily opportunities for personal growth, but also bring inner fulfilment and joy from the deep closeness they bring about.
