The Retreat House (Childswickham House) dates back to the 1600s and was at one time the local court house. In fact, one of the downstairs bedrooms still has bars across the window from its days as the jail room.
The ground floor sitting room seats twelve comfortably, and has tea/coffee making facilities available. There is a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, and a variety of books for you to enjoy during your stay.
The Retreat House has a newly fitted kitchen and dining room, six bedrooms, five upstairs and one downstairs.
The kitchen and adjoining dining room will enable you to self-cater for your stay. The kitchen offers two ovens, an induction hob, two fridges and a freezer, microwave, and a dishwasher.
The rooms accommodate from one to four guests, and each has tea/coffee making facilities. (Sorry, no en-suite rooms).
There are two bathrooms upstairs and an accessible shower/toilet downstairs with a level floor suitable for disabled guests.
